HuskySMS – Course Directory

1. Access EHS Trainings in HuskySMS at uconn.scishield.com.
2. Log in using your UConn NetID and password.
3. Select Training from the left navigation menu.
4. Choose Course Directory from the drop-down menu.
5. Locate the desired training course and select the course name.
6. Click the Launch Course button to begin the training.
7. Classroom-based trainings are generally offered remotely via live stream. After registering, you will receive an email with instructions for attending.
8. HuskySMS quick guides and job aids are available on the EHS website: ehs.uconn.edu/huskysms-pi-quick-guides/.

Common Trainings Required for IBC Approval

• NIH Guidelines for Principal Investigators (Online)
  Required for Principal Investigators (PIs) conducting research subject to the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules. Knowledge checks must be completed with a score of 100% to receive credit. Assessments may be retaken as many times as needed, and the training may be completed over multiple sessions.
• Biosafety General Training
  Required annually for all personnel who work with biological materials.
• Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  Required annually for personnel who work with human and/or non-human primate materials, in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
• Laboratory Safety and Chemical Waste Management
  Required
